While waves of planetary energy do their thing, two solar system centaurs work with two gaseous giants to sort and soothe psyches. Centaurs certainly contribute to humankind in their own distinctive way - mostly sentient. The centaurs were quite grounded and benefitted from heightened senses, especially the olfactory sense. They consistently suggest sniffing out life’s circumstances to see if conditions posing as reality pass one’s sniff test.
Chiron, of course, came to us in 1977, setting up hopes of more discoveries out in the centaur belt and inspiring hopes of discoveries beyond Pluto in the Kuiper belt. In 1992 the first Kuiper Belt Object came to our attention at roughly the same time as the discovery of the second centaur, Pholus. A year later, Nessus entered our collective consciousness with his discovery. It is curious to note that as the Internet became a thing, the centaurs began appearing, with their heightened five senses and double grounded capacity compared to humans by virtue of four hooves on the ground compared to two feet. The centaurs evidently prompt staying solid within oneself and trusting ones instincts, particularly the age-old sniff test, especially as one engages in cyberspace activities.
Right now Jupiter in Gemini sextiles Chiron in Aries, both retrograde. Jupiter, the grand benefic, granted Chiron a place in the heavens following his wounding at a wine-based debacle caused by centaurs intoxicated by the mere scent of wine. After assigning Chiron a task in the underworld, as if to prove his intention to healing, the grand one offered Chiron stature in the heavens as figurehead of Centaurus (now associated with Hydra in a supercluster) which enabled eternal merit as a healer, a wise and just teacher and mentor. The grace of Jupiter in Gemini, now considers both sides of every coin in the interest of providing solace to ones ego, physical being and soul.
Currently, healing does occur. It occurs in subtle ways. Maybe the air suddenly smells great in the relatively new season and part of dramatic weather changes. Maybe the air inspires a deep, centering breath and restores the ability to cope with any situation and less than desirable condition. Regardless, this soothing sextile seeks to set healing in motion such that one can resume believing in what one knows to be the truth and finding a viable path forward no matter what chaos appears to be out there. This combines to accept conditions without ignoring details that require additional discernment for purposes of locating the bottom line of matters at hand.
Over the next months, Jupiter and Saturn work their ways with the first two centaurs discovered. While not immediate, these aspects imply the restoration of sensibilities and trust in the most basic of instincts. Say the two beautiful planets anchoring the center of our planets, “No need to try to be extrasensory if you’re ignoring the five physical senses.” Quite a valid point, indeed.
On 01 December Jupiter reverts to square Nessus in Pisces. The gory details of the Nessus tale can be Googled in between online holiday shopping. Suffice it to say, despite his inclination to often intervene in the affairs of other deity, Jupiter did not get involved with the whole Nessus-Hercules thing. On the upside though, this transit suggests avoiding the urge to retaliate and emphasizes the need to heal any bad blood between oneself and others.
Reducing the temperature of the blood below boiling may take a little while. Right after February commences, Jupiter turns direct and prepares to replicate the noted aspects. On 07 February, Saturn conjoins Nessus in Pisces. “So how’s that blood work going,” Saturn asks? Additionally, he wants to know if your blood is purged and you’re over it enough to get on with providing viable resolution for conditions you reject in entirely constructive manners. Since, this conjunction happens in Pisces the farthest stretches of imagination will be required to encounter such resolutions.
Expect that the importance and merit of any proposals presented in February take some time to process emotionally and integrate. On 27 April, Jupiter repeats the square to Nessus in Pisces, now direct. It’s like having another blood test to see if the supplementation of a deficient vitamin in ones blood has been bolstered sufficiently to please those who comprehend how blood best flows within the body and containing what essential nutrients as it does. Getting back on top of the game physically at this time is critical. Jupiter then adds emotional enhancement, mental improvement, and getting more good stuff going and to embellish everything positively.
Why is this so important at this time? Because Jupiter soon sextiles Chiron in Aries again, both now direct, on 18 May. This repeats what is happening right now. Only those clear on their personal resources available stand ready and willing to be called into active duty. Jupiter sanctions Chiron, by relieving his pain, and elevating him into a place where grand perspective occurs simply by viewing any situation. Perspective returns and solutions can be determined that work well for the collective without needing the intervention of super heroes. Good can be done by everyone every single day.
Jupiter is an opinionated planet. He once decided he did not like the result of a political outcome and that it defied his sensibilities. What did he do? He assigned Mercury the task of asking the politician in power if he would rescind his elevated position if the Sun rose in the west. Of course that never happens. It is a curious thing to note that years ago, Senator John McCain once referenced the Sun rising in the west when discussing a political outcome in which he was involved.
Making the Sun rise in the west takes some doing. In fact, even Jupiter needed to summon assistance. He called upon Eris, the goddess of discord, to assist in reversing the order of the heavens. Subject to the influence of Jupiter and Eris, Helius (the Sun), turned his chariot about and returned to the place of dawn. Sympathetic to the reversal of motion, the seven stars of the Pleiades retraced their courses as well. They were followed by all the other stars in the canopy of the heavens. That day, and that day only, the Sun set in the east. And the Pleiades wept.
There’s not much time for grieving. Looking ahead, come 19 May, Jupiter in Gemini sextiles Eris in Aries, activating this mythology in what way he shall. What does this mean in terms of real world outcomes? I do not know. Given how predictions were argued amongst astrologers prior to the recent U.S. Presidential election, I suspect astrologers are discovering how they are not entirely privy to the mind of Jupiter, infallible in forecasting and certainly not knowing the will of God.
What we do know is that Jupiter intends to create sharp contrast between desired outcomes and life’s actual realities for the dramatic purpose of honest discovery of how the cow eats the cabbage. All an individual can do is heal the psyche, reset perspective, focus on the highest of objectives and do everything within their personal power to create good and well-being in any moment for the planet upon which they exist.
